Early opening hours

As you may have heard, the opening and closing times of the Fitness and Crossfight area have been extended as of last weekend.
Through an electric lock and timer on the outside door and after extensive testing, the new times are Mon/Fri 05:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. and weekends 08:00 a.m. to 7 p.m., respectively.

Weights
Following this post, we have received a request from our staff to use this blog to draw your attention once again to the cleaning up of weights and such after your gym session in these 2 rooms. Give an example, too often it happens in the Fitness, take the Legpress, that it hangs full of heavy weights. In my opinion, it is part of your exercise to place these weights back on the numerous hanging brackets so that the next person does not have to start removing a weight that is too heavy for them before using the legpress. Particularly mention the hanging brackets because the walls in the Fitness are not an option to put weights against.
Dumbbells and Kettlebells also regularly wander in impossible places in the Crossfight room, surely it is a small effort to put them back on the designated red platforms after use. I certainly don't want to come across as a nag, but if you stick to this it will be a lot more pleasant and the view of these areas will be a lot more pleasant.

Self-confidence
I work behind the bar, especially on weekends, and I sometimes hear comments from parents about our young athletes. For example, the other day I overheard a conversation between two parents talking about their offspring's self-confidence. By following, in this case kickboxing, one mother had noticed that her child had gained a lot more self-confidence since taking up kickboxing. She also felt that he was getting quite a bit stronger physically. These are conversations that we at Burning Heart dojo love to hear because sports in general are good for children's development anyway. Kickboxing also brings respect to their opponents, something our trainers keep pointing out. Sport is important for the development of children anyway, so you can understand that such a conversation pleased me.

Protection
You may have noticed but since early this week tubes have been placed in front of the outside windows, this is to prevent punching bags from knocking out the glassware.
Recently a punching bag hit the window so hard that it practically jumped out of its frame. An incident that absolutely must not be repeated hence these protective pipes.
Point of note, a pipe was used the same day to sit on, something absolutely not intended so people if you want to rest use a bar stool or the bench.

Until my next blog,
Dick
