The Wall Punching Bag

Burniing Heart, Fitness, Boxing Bag, Dojo

Thursday morning it's time to start my blog. The mercury is rising steadily and another hot day awaits with temperatures that can rise to about 30 degrees. Last Tuesday, my flat became a lot smarter, because Liander exchanged my electricity and gas meter in what is popularly known as "smart meters". Something that will soon happen in the dojo as well. Keep an eye on the scores because it doesn't always go well, I understood. Various programs on TV have devoted an item to this where households were suddenly confronted with sky-high bills after installing those meters.
See on the cameras that the gym is fairly full again around the time of 08.00 am. As a rule, you will see a fixed team of athletes who are exercising around this time every day. Take 2 people who are busy almost every day, I won't mention names because of their privacy, but nice to see that their daily efforts are paying off. When you compare these people in terms of body when they started working seriously a year ago with how they look now, class. And without aids, pure sports. This was my usual introduction, on to the events of last week at the dojo that are sparse, in other words little to report.

The wall punching bagg

This device has a long history, hung on the wall from the very beginning of Burning Heart in the very first dojo. Later moved to the crossfight room but every time there was something wrong with it, somehow there was always play in it despite hefty anchor bolts with which this device was attached. Decided to have the hinges welded on with hopefully result that it will now remain immovably attached to the wall. This wall punching bagg was used quite a lot in the past so from now on it will hang from the concrete pillar in the back of the crossfight.

2nd Youth Diploma

Currently designing the follow-up kickboxing diploma for our youth. It is not yet known when this exam will take place, but it will be there. The first exam was a great success, so as announced at the time, number 2 is in the making.

Scanning for everyone

Because due to a week's holiday Ab Stuivenberg, responsible for the daily routine at the dojo, was not present, he took over his task behind the desk during certain hours. One of the things is to check that everyone actually checks in upon entry. Know that this doesn't always happen but is oh so important. For example, last Monday I was at my post behind the computer and saw one youth member after the other walk through without scanning. They know by now how I work, so everyone called back to scan. Believe it or not, 18 of the 30 youth members did not have a pass with them. Incomprehensible to me, you don't play football without football boots. Now we can check in manually so we did that too, but I think it's crazy to do that. We as Burning Heart have the obligation to ensure that everyone actually checks in upon entry. For me the biggest annoyance at our dojo unfortunately.
So for the umpteenth time CHECK IN upon entry!!

Sound is back

You may have noticed, but recently an irritating sound can be heard with a blocked card. It has taken far too long, but our computer expert has finally managed to make this sound again when for some reason a card is blocked. It's so loud that it rises above the speakers. So folks, pay on time so the whole dojo won't hear that there's something wrong with your card. You can also hear this sound when you check in upstairs with a blocked pass!

Gooiland Theatre

Our dancers are reasonably on schedule for the final performance in theater Gooiland. There is a lot of practice at Dance 3 to make a good impression on July 7 in Gooiland. Ticket sales are also going well, but there are still tickets for sale. So if you haven't bought tickets yet, you can get there for € 10.00.

Until my next blog!
