Scanning, Vikings and Fitness

Ascension Day, just got out of the sun because otherwise it will be too long. But crawled behind my computer for my weekly blog.

Scanning
It was quite an eventful week at the Dojo, the shower did not want to work, scanning was not quite to my liking and many people with the wrong mail address.

Fortunately the shower is now working properly, next week I will give it a lick of paint and then that chapter is closed and we can shower properly.
Also the problems with scanning seem to be behind us, especially now one can scan with the mobile phone although I still see too many people who want to push their pass or phone through the scanner. Again, small distance, wait until green light comes on and then open the door.
Still often get called out that the pass or phone doesn't work, when I have the opportunity I do it for them and almost always it works at once and then have them do it again themselves.

Am amazed at how many members provided an incorrect or incomplete e-mail address when they joined. Taking a look at the application forms I can understand why, some handwriting is almost illegible and copying the correct information can be a puzzle. Try to send the email with the app and the code to new email addresses every day, I now have over 100 email addresses and every day the list grows. Send each member a separate mail to their correct address and each mail takes me about 3 minutes, so if it takes a while you know the reason. Quite some work but this way you know that the mail has been sent and arrived. Do not complain because our motto is not for nothing:
"One Gym One Fam" and if any one feels like a family member it is me.

Obstacle Viking Run
You may have noticed that in the Crossfight area, the windows behind which the restrooms are located are covered with black film and on the middle row is a beautiful picture of the 56 Vikings who have registered for the approaching Obstacle Run. Each participant is listed with his or her name on this picture. Quite a photo that stands out and of which Burning Heart is quite proud. Other advantage is that one is not looking directly at the restrooms and the say porch has been turned into a sort of changing area. There are clothes hooks hanging on the wall and soon there will be a bench for people to sit on.

24/7
We have been open 24 hours now for a few days as far as Fitness and Crossfight is concerned and except for one unpleasant incident which I will not go into further, we are very happy with the way things are going.

Almost daily so-called drops are purchased by members and Jerry's initiative to open 24 hours a day has been received with enthusiasm.
Of course the control on the course of events from our side has been tightened, double control via the entrance door downstairs, scanning member on 2nd floor, via Teamviewer view who is present and at what time and looking back every morning of the camera images.
We do this because of you and our safety. In addition, there is a phone number posted on both parts of the access door that people can call in case of an emergency.

What is also quite nice and noteworthy is that over 225 visitors per day visit our Gym for either a class or visit to the Fitness.

Until my next blog,
Dick
