So that was quite a week, can't say I was sorry when I turned into the parking lot of Schiphol Airport on Monday morning to pick up Jerry and consorts. 10 days as a babysitter of 2 teenagers does not go easy on you, on the other hand those days flew by. Except for some bickering by the twins, I have nothing to complain about. But waking up in your own bed was nice for me. One of the things I missed quite a bit, a waterbed isn't everything either, just turning over was quite a hassle for me although in the end I started to get used to it.
Even hit the fair, can't remember the time I had been there but had promised the twins and you know promise is debt. The bills fly out of your pocket when you walk around there, at one point I went to a terrace and gave the girls money for various attractions. Half an hour later they came back with 2 big hugs they had won somewhere.
All in all, had quite a nice time with the girls.

Dumbells have arrived.

The promised dumbells of respectively 55 and 60 kg. arrived together with some new rods. The bench that was ordered at the same time was not there yet so I had to be patient again. Those things are really heavy, I wonder who will work with them.
You really have to be a man-puncher to handle those dumbells.

Access door fitness/parcourse room

It will have passed many but since 2 weeks one of the door magnets was not working properly. We obviously did not publicize this but since Saturday the problem has been solved and the door is working properly again.
Last Monday evening I was working at my computer and on the screen next to me I saw quite a few people treating the door like it was an impregnable fortress. In the oddest ways, they hold their pass in front of the scanner, often with the barcode flipped over, and don't look to see if the green light lights up but immediately try to get the door open. Feel sorry for this door as some try to ram it open. Every right-thinking person should understand that when the door does not open something is wrong. If the door does not open for any reason, please take the trouble to report it to the front desk so our staff can take action to deal with the problem.
What is by now growing into irritation no. 1 at our dojo are those who chase someone without scanning themselves, or when someone unlocks the door from the inside.There is a notice on both the inside and outside of the entrance door for a reason that one should not do this!!!
A common reason that the door does not unlock is when one is blocked for whatever reason. Then your pass or phone no longer works.Also lately we have been finding more and more empty coffee cups in the rooms, Abman in particular has urged me to mention this in my blog.Isn't it a small effort to take these down with you.

Farewell Samantha van Doorn

Recently, Sammie announced that she will limit her work at the dojo even further because of a dojo of her own in Utrecht.
Sam grabbed the opportunity of her own gym, along with 2 others, with both hands and of course we wish her the best of luck. Starting in mid-May, the gym is going to open its doors and of course we are going to see Samantha less at Burning Heart then.
Tuesday nights Sam will continue to teach.

King's Day closed

Friday, April 27, except for the fitness/parcours area, dojo Burning Heart will be closed.
No classes will be held in connection with this holiday.
Of course, fitness will be open from regular business hours, for drop users 24/7

Message from our youth

Sana, Dina, Kyan, Milan, Vince and Bo enter the ring at the gala at Center Gym, Snijdershof 9, Lelystad. This event will take place on Saturday, 28-4-2018.
Start 13.00 hours. Of course we wish our youth every success but above all enjoy.
