Rise of an Empire
The month of December has begun and the holidays are fast approaching. Find this month quite attractive with first December 5 and at the end of the year Christmas.
A month with decorated shop windows and lots of lights does quite a bit for me. Although nowadays it can't be compared to the old days, many who read this don't know it but you had a great toy store on Church Street called the "Children's Paradise". By St. Nicholas time, the window was extra made up and I marveled at the stuff displayed there. In particular, every year there was a breathtakingly beautiful train track of the then popular brand Trix. Several trains ran through the entire display window, which was about 10 meters long and 3 meters wide. An image I can still remember well.
A Night 2 Remember
Back to today, last Sunday many of us enjoyed the Kickboxing Gala at the Dudok Complex. A nNight 2 Remember was well worth a visit and have generally only heard positive comments about this gala. The participation of fighters from Burning Heart was less than announced due to various reasons.
Kikkie Koch kicked off for us and unfortunately lost her match on points. The veteran match between Dennis van der Bor, representing Burning Heart, and opponent Robin Stef, who trains at Mezieres gym, was a resounding victory for our Dennis. Samantha van Doorn, still to be found 2 nights as trainer at Burning Heart, won her match. A man who is also a regular at our gym, Fred Sikking, unfortunately lost his match. On the other hand, Benaissa Haddaoui, a member of our Dojo, won his match despite 2 broken metacarpals. He sustained the broken metacarpals during this match.
Another year of waiting for the next event.
Pietendans and Pietenparcours
December 3, it's party time at our Dependance 100 meters away from Burning Heart. Under the inspiring leadership of Manon Weijn we will give all kids a Pietendans at 10 am! Super fun to experience. Everyone can participate so bring your friends. Upstairs at Ladies own we give a Pietenparcours for girls and ladies from 15 years. Same story member or not member come and enjoy an hour of gas. See what we have built and simply enjoy!
This coming Saturday the radiators on the top floor will be connected to our heating stove so that it will still be comfortable in our strength room annex crossfight room in case of frost. The radiators are not going to be running at full power, our goal is to prevent the cold. We try to create a comfortable temperature where you can enjoy your workout.
Rise of an Empire
Last week, I announced a new item to still take care of my weekly blog when there is little news regarding the past week. It concerns all kinds of facts related to our Dojo. Founding, seminars by famous kickboxers, various expansions of our Dojo, in short, there is much to tell. Currently working on finding out the right dates etc. to start this item in early 2017. Of course I do not possess the capabilities of a real writer but I will try to write down Jerry's Dojo life story in a nice readable way.
A headline for these articles was given to me by our webmaster and I should have thought of it myself.....RISEOF AN EMPIRE!!!
