Pec Deck, Polos and Aunt Sugar

A small look back at this successful happening, partly due to the beautiful weather we received. The weather forecast changed by the day, but after a week of wetness, Sunday turned out to be a welcome exception with mainly sunshine. Was lucky enough to be able to park my car in the parking lot of the location, so I didn't have to walk far to get to our stand. A nice fresh-looking place decorated with balloons all around. We were allowed to provide the "kick-off" after a welcome speech by the organization. Successively, a demonstration was given by Dance Dance Dance with 4 different performances from the successful Happy Summer Dance of theater Gooiland. Manon Weijn took care of the opening with "Kapitein" followed by Elromeo Kidjo with his Breakdance group, then it was the turn of our Streetdancers with "Waitresses", then a piece of classical ballet by Elise Uiterwijk Winkel and our performance ended with "scholieren", a performance where 2 granddaughters of mine performed. Pec Deck
At the time of publication of this blog, the leatherwork, which was defective, has finally been replaced by new leather. The "Pec Deck" also has a completely different look, it had purple leather on it which was quite battered, and can finally be used after weeks of standing aimlessly in the fitness room. All this has been realized by upholstery company Martines.
Our latest addition, the "Airbike" in the Crossfight space, apparently has start-up problems.
After a new screen was sent, it turned out not to work either. Carefully followed the instructions, but all gauges remain at zero when the Airbike is set in motion. In consultation with the supplier, a technician will hopefully come and fix the problem and finally be able to function properly.
Our pride in the Crossfight space, the Octagon, is also battered. The connection of the upper beam is broken at a certain point, in the meantime the blacksmith has been notified to repair it. In addition, there will be so-called tension wires to make the mesh a bit more decent, apparently so much force is applied when fighters quack against the mesh that it will give way too much. You can see that we don't dwell on Burning Heart and do everything we can to make sure it is in perfect order. Duly noted!!

Aunty sugar
The fact that the economy is doing better is also noticeable at the Kerkelanden industrial estate. After a steady exodus in recent years, all buildings on this site are now occupied again. Similarly, on the corner opposite the Sligro, a new company has made its appearance. With the beautiful name, Tante Suiker, specialized in making cakes, among other things. The building this company occupied was empty for years and the parking spaces were regularly used by members of Burning Heart. A logical consequence when these places are free. However, due to the move of Tante Suiker into the building, we have been informed that they no longer use these parking spaces. Workshops are held regularly, also in the evenings, and then people need these places for their clientele. Therefore, our request, if it is busy, find a different place for your car in our own parking spaces than the parking spaces of the aforementioned company.

Blue Polo Shirts
Finally from this blog, from now on our bar staff can be recognized by blue polo shirts.
This is to increase recognizability, these people dressed in blue are also the point of contact of Burning Heart.
