Maltstock, New Teachers!?

Burning Heart, Whiskey, Maltstock

Quite a busy weekend ahead, the Open Day of Dance Dance Dance and Ladies Only is planned this weekend and for the 10th time Maltstock.
I was in serious doubt about what I would prefer, but in the end I made the decision and my choice fell on Maltstock.
A brief explanation of what Maltstock is all about: this is an annual event where around 200 whisky lovers from all over Europe come together to enjoy the divine liquid that is whisky.
There are few drinks in this world that have a greater diversity of colour, flavour and aftertaste than whisky. One smells and tastes like the waiting room of the emergency room of a hospital, the other like exotic fruits, the latter category has my preference ?
I own more than 500 bottles and have a real whiskey room where they are displayed, the majority are open.
Maltstock, derived from Woodstock, takes place once a year in the wooded area of Overasselt near Nijmegen. The place where all this takes place is called "The Outside Happening" and embraces dormitories, various buildings where activities take place, such as in this case masterclasses given by people from various distilleries and there is a so-called courtyard where bottles of whiskey of all kinds are displayed. A condition of participation is that each participant brings a bottle of whisky from their own stock to share with other participants.
The highlight is the campfire on Saturday evening, fortunately it looks like it will be dry on the rain wheel.
Now I've been asked to capture this event on film, so I can see it on my timeline of facebook in the near future. Last year I was only present on Saturday but this time I'll be there all weekend, curious how my leg will hold up because believe me it's quite tiring.
So curious about what Maltstock looks like, keep an eye on my facebook from next week.

Fitness entrance door

You may have noticed that since a few days the scanner of the fitness room has been functioning properly. To date, we have not experienced that you can push the door open without scanning. In the past, this sometimes happened, much to my annoyance.
The box that provides the control is now in a constant power supply and that was not the case before. A simple solution, but you just have to come up with it?
What still happens is that when there are several people in front of the door, they carelessly walk in without scanning themselves. Paid attention to this countless times but still see it happen regularly, please scan personally, is still a small effort. What also often happens is to immediately try to open the door when one has scanned, wait a few seconds for the green light to come on and you can enter unhindered!!
Sometimes I feel sorry for the door when I see how they try with all their might to get the door open, if the light doesn't come on, report to the counter because then there is something wrong with the card.

New Teachers

As of Monday, 2 new teachers have been added to the Burning Heart Trainer Guild. On Monday evening, it is Cindy Venema who gives the bag and fitness training. Cindy is an old training buddy of Jeremy with the status of A class, I got to know her and my impression was very positive.
What you call a nice spontaneous woman who will definitely find her way around our dojo. Reactions from athletes who have followed her lessons also showed only positive reactions. The other teacher, Roel Westdorp, will give the crossfight and also at the Saturday Boot Camp, starting at 9.00 am which will take place in the open air.
Roel is known to many with his own gym nowadays but we are happy that we were able to get him for the crossfight classes.
We both wish you a good time at dojo Burning Heart and wish them the best of luck.

New schedule

As of Monday, September 3, our new schedule is in effect. There is a printed copy in our dojo but also in our site, just type in Burning Heart and you will be referred to this site, just for clarity; www.burning-heart.nl

Borrowing stuff

At the request of our desk staff, we would like to draw attention once again to the regular members to buy their own items.
When you decide to take out a subscription, it seems logical to us that you also purchase the associated items. You're not going to play football without special football boots. It doesn't have to be expensive gloves or shin guards, but too many members still come asking for loaner supplies.
We can give advice on how or where to buy these items.
