Raffle & Whisky

The raffle pot of Maeva Labega, the woman dedicated to the fight against cancer, who has committed herself, among other things, to the Fisherman Friends Strongman Run by members of Dojo Burning Heart is beginning to reach nice proportions. Lottery tickets are on sale for 2.00 each. The prize pool expands almost weekly and my contribution to the raffle is a real whiskey tasting for 4 people, on our site it says Whiskey with an e in between however the Scots write the word without the e.
Also the Japanese who incidentally make delicious whiskeys write it just like the Scots.
America and Ireland use the word whiskey.
Just a factoid, over time have crossed almost all of Scotland, partly with Jerry, partly with a whiskey buddy and have seen over 55 Distilleries inside and out, even in places where others are not allowed.
Without beating myself up about it, I can say that I am fairly versed in the process of whisky making and know how to give the winners of the tasting an entertaining evening.
In fact, at home where the tasting will be held, I have set up a room that holds 522 bottles.
The vast majority of these are open, so my motto is: whisky should be enjoyed and not looked at full bottles.
There are bottles that smell and taste like exotic fruit and honey, for example, and others that have a nose and taste like you are in a hospital emergency room.
Whisky is unimaginably diverse and I will let the winners of the tasting know that.
On the site under the heading price it says priceless and for me personally it is!

Fitness
Back to the weekly business at Dojo Burning Heart.
At the time of writing the cover plates of the various machines are still at Hill-coating on the Loswal, they are extremely busy at this company and next week they are going on vacation but I still have a quiet hope that they will do them on Friday so that everything will be ready next week. My buddy René Taling and myself are ready to mount the plates after everything has been cleaned.

Elevator
When visiting our gym this week, you will no doubt have seen the signs elevator out of order. Somehow the door on the first floor stopped closing and the elevator was out of order. And you will always see, Monday night there was a wheelchair user in front of the elevator but unfortunately had to make a right turn.
May say that I personally was not happy with this inconvenience either, going down is still possible but going up the stairs is a temptation for me.
And as always when you need help our "regular" elevator mechanic turns out to be on vacation.
After consulting with Jerry at his vacation address I decided to call in a specialized elevator company.
His first comment was when I informed him of the inconvenience, Dad we are known as "One Gym One Fam" so that includes a working elevator.
Tuesday morning I called a company from de Meern and explained our problem. Had been in contact with the builder of the elevator in the past, the Schindler company, but they didn't even respond. The employee of the company wanted to see pictures of the elevator before sending someone over. Immediately on my way to the Dojo I photographed the elevator from all sides, e-mailed them and within 10 minutes I got a call saying that his company could not do anything for us.
Nonsense in my eyes because their website said repair of all brands of elevators among other things.
I called Skylift from Barneveld, explained the problem and got the answer: send a mechanic as soon as possible. At 10 minutes past 10 the mechanic entered Burning Heart.
He immediately went to work and after an hour the problem was solved.
If I could hand out a hot shower it would be to Skylift Barneveld.

Until my next blog,
Dick
