Loan stuff and Viking Run 2018

A week behind me where I shifted my activities to Otopoets. Not that I've started cleaning again, but my son has a new building, next to the Brezan, where I did some chores. Among other things, together with a buddy, a canvas of about 2×6 meters attached to the façade. In addition, mirrors were made on the wall and extra lamps hung on the wall for an ultimate cleaning spot where Jerry can enjoy himself. Quite a nice change from my work at the dojo. For the rest, everything is rippling along and as far as the gym is concerned, we are in fairly calm waters. The lessons are nicely filled and especially the youth is growing rapidly. The morning classes also enjoy a large number of participants. The 2 afternoon classes are better occupied after a dip, when I glance at the cameras at home I always see athletes working in the fitness and crossfight. Nowadays my eldest granddaughter is at the dojo a few times a week to do bar duty, a great way to earn some extra money.
There are also quite a few schools active to exercise for an hour on our dojo, alternating between the morning or afternoon. Stood and looked at them a few times and came to the conclusion, with a few exceptions, that their condition is not good.
Looking back to my childhood, my mother always had to pick me up off the street when it was time for bed. After school, it was usually playing football or something else that you were moving with. Now, in my youth, you didn't see much traffic on the road so we always played in the street and playing football was the main thing, a brick on every corner and trying to hit the opponent's stone. Could keep this up for hours!
Nowadays such a thing has become impossible, but there are still plenty of places where you can do this, but the youth prefer to sit with a phone in hand or behind the computer.

REPEAT YOURSELF
Mentioned so many times in my blog, but not only do I notice myself, but it is also pointed out by others that it still regularly happens that people leave devices unnecessarily full after an exercise. For example, someone asked me, Dick, can't you even look back at who left a certain apparatus full of weights behind in the crossfight and talk to him or her about it. Of course I complied with this request and last Saturday I sat down to try to find out who had left that device behind. Knew the date and the place, that was really the only thing available to me. Luckily the cameras cover a large part of our dojo so we searched for a certain image of the crossfight. After looking at some times, I saw a device lying around. Now I have to try to find out who had done that. Because I'm getting more and more handy at it, I soon came across images where I met the person who I thought was responsible. The annoying thing was that this person was standing quite far away and with his back turned to me. After some camera changes, I knew for sure who that person was, I have to be absolutely sure of my case if I want to talk to someone. Because it was someone who took out an all-in subscription and I regularly see him playing other sports, I spoke to him shortly afterwards. Turned out to be the one who had left the device full, he could still remember it. With sincere apologies for his act, had an explanation why he had done this, was called home for a private event, I am convinced that he will not do that again. So for the umpteenth time, clean up afterwards!!

VIKING RUN 2018
On Saturday 23 June, the Viking Run will be held near Nijmegen. Jerry had posted an article on Facebook to gauge whether there was enough interest to participate with a delegation from Burning Heart for the third time. In the article in question, he quoted the following quote

Last year can't be beaten! Such a huge number of participants and so much fun!!"

Less than a week later, countless reactions to his post have been received, all of them positive. So we can report that the run will continue, including a bus trip because that increases the fun. We will also go out in an outfit specially designed for this happening! There is talk of a BBQ afterwards, but there is a bet attached to this. Everything is still in an early stage, but we will certainly come back to this. I have been present both previous times with my buddy René Taling to take photos and videos and definitely plan to repeat this.

Let's hope that the weather will be as nice as last edition.

Borrowing supplies
We are struck by how many members still ask for boxing gloves and shin guards, especially members who have been members for a while. I can imagine when you start that you first want to wait and see what happens and don't want to buy this stuff right away, but I think people know pretty quickly whether you want to switch from your trial period to some form of subscription. Just like in football or hockey, for example, you need shoes or your own stick, respectively. A while ago we started giving newcomers coins that could be exchanged for gloves or shin guards. That's been watered down a bit, but we're going to reintroduce it. When you take out an unlimited subscription you will receive 5 coins, a limited subscription (1x per week) 2 coins. For a set, gloves and shin guards, you will spend around € 60.00. Of course you can make it as expensive as you want, but for this amount you can get by.
