Locker Rooms, Air Conditioning and Showers

It has been quite the week, spend more time at the Dojo than at home these days.
There is plenty of action as far as Dojo Burning Heart is concerned, for example, if you are reading my blog, both locker rooms are currently undergoing a major renovation. The 3 Daltons, Grandpa, Dad and son Ouwerkerk are providing the locker rooms with a fresh look in the form of tiled walls and floors. A job we can trust them with. Unfortunately, this refurbishment causes some inconvenience because people temporarily have to change in a mixed changing room. Fortunately, this inconvenience will only last a few days and we expect everything to be back to normal by Tuesday at the latest.
The changing room is located in the back of the "old" Dojo and is equipped with a toilet and space for 2 people to shower evenly. After everything is back to normal this locker room will serve for just the ladies next to the existing locker room. The windows are currently being whitened, the first coat of paint is already on them, this due to the fact that one can no longer look inside from the Loosdrechtseweg.

In addition, last Wednesday at 7 a.m., an aerial platform was at the door to hoist a unit onto the roof, intended for the air conditioning in the Fitness room. Largely sponsored by Mister air conditioning, Nick Martens. From now on it will only be sweating from the effort but no longer because of the high temperature in the Fitness room. A long cherished wish has come true, the sun shines almost all day and evening on the space.
Last year there were quite a few hot days and then the temperature quickly rose to a heat that was not really inviting to do all kinds of exercises, hopefully that is now history.

Scanners
Next item, the announcement that the new scanners have arrived. With these scanners, which will be active Saturday, April 23, hopefully, and can be read by cell phone in addition to the pass, we expect to be away from a major annoyance. There are still problems with the current scanner because people want to open the door immediately after scanning. Therefore until then, people please read what it says on the entrance door then you will avoid a lot of problems getting in on both sides. The new scanner comes with a light that unlocks the door and allows entry. The scanner including light is mounted on the pillar next to the stool, whether there is a 2 second wait is not yet known but expect it because the scanned pass is checked online for validity. But because a light gives green light I expect a lot less problems with entering. Of course we will announce the method of scanning on the entrance door and through various media.

24/7 Shower Room
Last point of this blog, we have figured out what the changing/shower room is going to be on the top floor. The glass partition on the Crossfight area will be blinded and the area in front of the 2 restrooms, when you come in immediately to the right, will serve as the changing area. There will be a bench and hooks to hang up your clothes. Furthermore, the present ladies' toilet will be changed into a shower. A wall will be removed and what is now a storage closet will be included in the shower, so there will be a large shower area where you can shower and change. This because then both ladies and men can change undisturbed.
With this solution we keep 2 toilets left upstairs, the one in the Crossfight room becomes ladies' toilet and the one in the fitness room becomes men's toilet.
