A few things!

But I crawled behind my computer again to write my weekly blog. It is May 31st, a day that is etched in my memory for the following reason. Exactly 50 years ago I got married on that memorable day and just like now it was a sun-drenched day, although a little less warm but a day to remember. Despite sometimes difficult times, it has gone incredibly fast.
At the dojo everything goes its way and slowly you notice that the holiday time is about to arrive.
The air conditioners are running at full speed and can hardly keep the various rooms fresh, as far as I'm concerned it could be a few degrees less. Despite some thunderstorms it doesn't cool down much, my flat is south facing so I have the full sun on my balcony all day. Now I can handle the heat but you won't find me on my balcony at the moment. Luckily I don't have trouble sleeping, when I get into bed I'm in dreamland in no time.

This week I emailed the final list of participants to the organization with the very last adjustments. A total of 91 people have signed up. As a short preparation for this run, Marco Langereis will be present from this Saturday at 9.00 am to act as a running trainer. It is his intention to run in the vicinity of our dojo for the next 3 Saturdays.
He wanted to start earlier, but due to work that didn't happen, but for those who are interested, Marco is ready for 3 Saturdays.

Couple of things

Ideas/complaints box is used a lot, my thanks for that! Not everything can be done in 1 go, but I have a list that will be finished. Already done: 55 and 60 kg dumbbells, extra pressure bench, scales, high tap. Ordered a short punching bag and new belly protector for padwork, now in! There are a lot of top suggestions, a few very stupid ones, and a few impossible ones but overall absolutely great! Would like to make 'One Fam' come true.
Father Dick de Jong has been in the gym for the past 3 nights to throw people out or warn them. Due to Ramadan is busy at night but abuse is not a millimeter of leeway for it. Emphasize that 98 prct adheres to this very well!! Top... Always pair and these are put out immediately.
New lessons will be added! Hit workouts from mid-June. 30 min non stop full throttle individual and a few more fun lessons. Some go out.
Jun 29 Are the kids going for kickboxing certificate 2! And the new one for 1. We are also going to adjust the set-up of kids training sessions. More distribution under level and age.

November 1 So we have the building of total glass in the process of being renovated. Means that the small dojo will be just as big as the fitness room and we haven't decided what we're going to do downstairs yet. What is certain is that it will only get more fun!!
Enough info for now! Ab and I are going to Bellator tomorrow to be there when
Dutch pride Mousasi led by Bert Kops is going to take the world title!! I'm very curious because of course I'm a UFC fan from the very beginning, but Bellator has experienced such a development that level is becoming pretty even. Wisenose 50 cents is also there I saw on Insta because he challenged hero Rampage, an impossible job! But if he's there, you guarantee that I'll post a selfie with him tomorrow night or else Ab will take a picture of his bodyguard folding me in half! It's 1 out of 2 sure...

Future champs Wijk bij Duurstede

Sunday 27 May it's time again Future Champs pool sparring at René Sports in Wijk bij Duurstede. This is a semi-contact event for beginners and advanced players under the age of 18. All participants are winners and from each pool we choose 2 talents of the day. This is a form of training together in which the most technical fighters are rewarded. Respect for each other is of paramount importance on this day. We train on the mat and not in a ring. Accessible and also fun for experienced fighters. If there are 2 toppers facing each other, then you can fight a bit harder of course.

A delegation of youth members of dojo Burning Heart took part in this and did it very successfully. Kiki and Sam turned out to be the winners and also talent of the day. A great result and the kids had a very nice day. Partly because of our trainers Salih and Kervin who guided the kids. Normally, Jeremy would have been there as well, but he was unable to attend.
