Dojo Burning Heart

You understand that I open this blog with a review of last Saturday's Viking Obstacle Run, a day with a golden edge. Really everyone, participant or spectator, experienced a so-called "perfect day" in Wijchen.
A little after ten o'clock we left in the double-decker of Wijdenmeren Tours in the company of a drizzly rain, but the closer we got to our destination the weather improved and a pale sun appeared in the sky to shine more and more and, except for a few moments, stayed with us all day.
Our "Big Boss" from the dojo arrived a little down in the morning, suffering from an injury to his upper leg, and flat out pissed that he was only destined to be a spectator.
Really something for me again he was sulking but after I talked to him he decided to go home and pick up sports clothes anyway, had said that at every obstacle where you want to spare your leg you could just walk past the obstacle in question to continue the course.
Afterwards, it became clear what a perseverance that son of mine had because truly he passed every obstacle and successfully reached the final goal, as did all the participants of Dojo Burning Heart.
I would also like to mention the performance of my granddaughter Chloë, who was secretly placed between our participants and even took the slide that seemed frightening to some, at the age of 11. Felt quite proud of our participants afterwards but Chloë in particular. We ended this great day with a visit to MacDonalds and around 9 p.m. we arrived at our home base, Dojo Burning Heart.

Tough women's sports
Just want to bring to your attention another fellow member of the dojo, Ruth Krooshof who, like me, writes a weekly blog, and was highlighted this week by: Tough Women Sports.

A quote from this interview:

Obstacle runs or dirt races were not for me. Not only was I too heavy, but I didn't have the confidence that I could physically handle it. How different that is now! Without a doubt, I sign up for such events. It makes me very happy that I can do all this now, that I can give everything in a workout and not have to doubt myself. It gives me a huge boost, I'm doing things I could never have dreamed of."

June 19
Want to draw your attention to next Sunday when Jerry will be teaching his regular class.

Promoted on facebook quite a few times already and Jerry's last post reads:

(One more before the summer break!!! This Sunday my workout will cost 10.00 euros pp and that tenner will go to a very good cause!!! Marjon Kappé is very committed to this dramatic disease and we are going to help her fill the jar. The little boy in the wheelchair in the picture is now 10 years old and he will probably come himself on Sunday. It has been a busy year with a lot of things but ask you to come en masse Sunday 10:00 a.m.!!! After that comes the summer period, everyone nice on vacation and no kidding for now.... Those who can't but want to donate a tenner, I'm already putting up a pot tonight. But also this is One Gym One Fam dear friends, such a disease can also happen to you or your children, so if you can make a difference with a wonderful hour of sports and 10e then you should definitely do it).
The charity concerns the disease Duchenne muscular dystrophy.
