Burning Heart Youth at Gala

Hanging in the air, many say, feeling anything but fine at the moment. Particularly irritating tummy rash, which lasted a complete day, for the rest just not feeling well. You will recognize that feeling, listless, shivery, just plain kl^ten. Despite that feeling, I had a nice weekend. It started last Friday afternoon, our dance school was asked to provide the warm-up for the first obstacle run in Hilversum and I thought it would be fun to capture this on film. We were present on time at the track of the Gooi athletics club where the start signal of the run would be given. Once there I found a nice entourage including a stage. The stage was positioned so that I was looking straight into the sun with my camera so I found a spot on the side. The organizers were disappointed with the poor turnout of participants for this run. They had counted on about 400 athletes but in practice this turned out to be reduced to about 30 to 40 participants. Nevertheless, Manon and her group gave a great warm-up.
The next day I opened the dojo for my replacement and drove to Arnhem where I would capture a whisky festival on camera. Right in the center of Arnhem lies the beautiful city park Sonsbeek which served as the location for this festival. Besides filming I had a great time and saw some beautiful bottles of whisky. Not much tasted because I had my own transportation but smelled quite a lot of older whiskies which I actually prefer even more than actually tasting them.
The following days I was busy putting together a 5-minute movie from the footage I shot (I had about 2 hours of footage).

This Sunday morning a big screen will be showing the fight between Khabib Nurmagomedov "The Eagle" versus Conor Mc Gregor "The Notorious" at our dojo. The door will open around 04.00, coffee will be ready and at jerry's request, of course you may bring some goodies with your coffee ?

Next Saturday 14 youth members will enter the ring during the Gala "Best of the Best" organized by René Sports in Wijk bij Duurstede sportpark Mariënhoeve, start 17.00 hrs.
We participate in youth, boxing and N class.We even have a youth member fighting for the Dutch title. How special is that!!! Please support these fighters and let Salih know how many people you are coming with. Show that we really are one gym one fam!
Tickets cost € 15,00 at the door, available at the bar for € 12,50, ask Salih!!!

New leaflet

The current Burning Heart leaflets were almost gone so it was time for our advertising department (read René Taling) to develop a new one.
Can assure you that it has become a beautiful folder with our motto one gym one family on both sides as the centerpiece.

Holders instead of bin

Not only have we recently added new equipment to the gym but we have also thought about keeping the floor clean. Starting Thursday, there are 2 holders in our dojo where you can hang the attachments of the peck deck, among others. A very effective holder where a lot of things that were previously lying crisscross in the iron box can now be neatly stored. Our hope, and especially Abman's, is that everyone who uses the gear will put it back neatly afterwards.
On facebook these holders have been well received so don't let us down but clean it up.
