Boxing champions

Last Saturday, the finals of the " Open South-Netherlands Championships Boxing 2017" took place in Breda where 2 boxers from Burning Heart had achieved a spot in this final. Originally, these finals would take place in Den Bosch but due to circumstances, they were moved to the "Breda Ring" at the last minute.
For both boxers of Burning Heart, namely Kervan Raphael Boom and Moustafa Amazyan, it is the first time that both men were in the finals.
For both boxers, they made short work of their opponents. Kervan who entered the ring first cautiously groped his opponent at first but soon realized that attack was the best defense. Guess Kervan's opponent went crazy with the agility that characterizes him. Like a 'flea' our hero moved through the ring, striking every time his opponent dropped his cover for a moment. After the last signal it was already clear to everyone who would be declared the winner and indeed it turned out to be our Kervan.
Just after the break it was Mourad's turn to enter the ring. As with Kervan, Mourad's opponent was a bit bigger but that did not bother Mourad at all. Halfway through the first round Mourad's opponent got an 8 count rest after a couple of hits from Mourad, this rest period was more than doubled by the referee. Not entirely according to the rules but we have no control over that unfortunately.
After the resumption the same picture, an attacking Mourad and a defending opponent. It is that Mourad's condition was a bit lacking at the end of the game otherwise it would have become a k.o. for sure. Both his trainers, Erik and Jeremy, had repeatedly pointed out to him in the preparation for this final that his condition was an issue. Was able to follow both matches through a "live report" on facebook and particularly enjoyed the on-the-spot commentary by Mourad's brother. February 26 both boxers will be back in action at our own gala in Hilversum.

Our own boxing gala which Burning Heart is organizing under the auspices of the NBB on February 26 in sports hall Kerkelanden is slowly taking shape. Last Tuesday, Erik and Jerry had a meeting with the municipality of Hilversum which went off in good harmony. Both the municipality and the police are sympathetic to our gala. On Thursday the first post was posted on Facebook where, among other things, the competition schedule is announced. For some boxers are still looking for an opponent, register via hwouwerkerk@live.nl.
Presale at the participating boxing clubs € 15.00, at the door € 20.00. Luxury tables on request.
Keep you posted in my next blogs about all kinds of things related to this gala!

Beastside
The premiere of Beastside is behind us and a success. This event will definitely have a sequel although a few adjustments will be made. DJ Goos, as it is called, was spinning at full speed in the middle of the gymnasium. As for the lighting, next time atmospheric lighting will be placed in the corners as it was too dark there. Otherwise, there were rave comments on Facebook.

Parking
At the end of this blog a few ground rules regarding parking. I know that people prefer to park as close to the entrance as possible, but this is especially difficult in the evening. During the day, Autotaalglas has reserved 3 parking spaces for their customers by means of a sign on the wall, please respect that, in the evening these spaces may be used by members of Burning Heart.
Regularly I notice that people also park cars in front of Goneo, our downstairs neighbor. Now it doesn't happen much but sometimes this company has to be in his building in the evening and then can hardly enter, let alone get a car out of his building. Also, almost daily one or more cars are parked in front of the door of the ICT company beginning premises. This property is owned and the owner has long had parking bans taped to his windows. Please do us a favor and stop parking here as well. The best man has complained repeatedly to us and his patience is running out, can completely understand this!!!
It has now escalated to the point where he is threatening to tow away cars parked in front of his loading and unloading door. Wednesday night I saw someone park his car in front of this door and from the office window I made this person aware that he was not allowed to park there. He completely ignored me with the remark; I will put it in an empty spot later and then he went inside. Sorry but this is really antisocial! Know that in the evening parking can be difficult but along and opposite the Sligro there is parking space enough so people take a short walk and observe the parking rules!

Until my next blog.
Dick
