Blog Big Burns by Dick de Jong no.1

Am not a man of good intentions, always wish everyone the best, but this time make an exception. Been walking around with the idea of creating a weekly "blog" about the goings on at dojo Burning Heart for a while now. As you can experience every day at our gym it's buzzing with energy and that's not only because of the owner, Jerry de Jong, but certainly also because of a passionate team of teachers who teach at our dojo.

For one teacher, Jeremy Blijd, 2016 got off to a less enjoyable start, as he was run off his motorcycle by a truck while entering a right of way intersection. Transported to the hospital, it was feared that he had broken his ankle. After examination they concluded that the ankle was badly bruised. With the advice of complete bed rest he was sent home for the next few days. However, when Jeremy came for a check-up and new pictures were taken, it turned out there was indeed a fracture in his fibula, resulting in at least 3 weeks of cast.

Since a few weeks a new system is in use at the dojo and slowly but surely the teething problems have been overcome and this system is running to our satisfaction. What is important, however, is that everyone checks in using their provided pass. It still happens too often that people just walk through and we definitely want to know who is inside.
Using this new system, we can report that we have recently passed the magic limit of 1000 members and new registrations are taking place daily.

Those who regularly use one of our treadmills will have noticed that one belt has been out of service for a while due to a faulty motor. This treadmill will soon be replaced by another one. Also, another expansion will take place in the form of a so-called BoxMaster. This new way of training is suitable for everyone, both beginners and advanced can enjoy a full body workout on this BoxMaster.

In the very near future, Burning Heart's space will be expanded a bit.
When our plans are concrete you will hear more about this.
