Aqua Training Ball

Boy does time fly, I feel like I've just posted my last blog but it's Thursday again, blog time. Personally, I haven't been to the Dojo much last week, but I'm very busy with all kinds of things, especially trying to catch up on movies I've shot recently. In addition, I really have to do some things on our Dojo like the wooden bench in the small Dojo, has been broken for a while but somehow I can't get around to solving this problem. Seats of red benches from the Crossfight have also come loose and are urgently needed to be secured. Soon we will replace the seats of the benches from the gym that are broken one by one.

Crossfight
Last Saturday afternoon I made some recordings of the Crossfight showing how people handled our stuff. I had to think for quite a long time about whether I should do this but decided to put these images on Facebook. The video in question has since been removed from Facebook, but we hope it will have a positive effect.

Summer schedule
The summer schedule that currently applies is on the two entrance doors of our Dojo.Er has not changed that much, which I would like to draw attention to the fact that Twan Cornelissen's lessons on Saturdays during the summer break have been cancelled. At 10.00 a.m. it concerns the Crossfight lesson followed by the technique lesson.

Aqua Training Ball
New is the Aqua Training Ball, a water-filled ball that is currently hanging in the Crossfight. Talked to several people who have used this ball and everyone says that it is completely different from a punching bag. Would say give it a try!

The promised gear, treadmill and Peck Deck have arrived at Fitness Result, now we have to wait and see when this company will appear in Hilversum.

Part II Memoirs

With Jerry's characteristic diligence, the lease was concluded and we were soon able to get started. With the help of, among others, Bart Hagedoorn, Jerry's support at the time, a plan for the campaign was drawn up and implemented as far as possible. First, the kitchen was demolished to make way for a dressing room. Subsequently, a 2nd dressing room was created, but with smaller dimensions for the ladies. The toilet was moved and through Bart we came into contact with a blacksmith who took care of the suspension brackets for the planned punching bags, a blacksmith who later took care of all the ironwork at Dojo Burning Heart.

The mirror wall was ordered from the Motshagen company and I was personally charged with building a bar. At the same time, the floor was regulated, because you can't do without a surface. Soon there was an activity that is unparalleled. Within a few weeks, the space was ready, except for the mirrors. Remember, if only yesterday, what a job the installation of the mirror wall turned out to be. The mirrors could only be raised via the steep stairs and once arrived at the top, carefully turned flat to be transported further. A job that has cost many a drop of sweat but has gone unscathed. Fitting the mirrors went without any significant problems and once they were in place this was a moment we were quite proud of. What we were also proud of was a large tarpaulin with the image of Rocky adorning the wall of the dressing rooms, a canvas that now hangs in the current entrance. An idea sprang from Jerry's brain.
What also took quite a bit of effort was the air extraction system, but this job also went without too many problems.

Until my next blog.
Dick
