It no longer looked like it but Jerry still managed to bring the hugely popular Alistair Overeem to Dojo Burning Heart. This MMA fighter who owns an overflowing schedule has still found a slot to hit Dojo Burning Heart on May 28, 2016.
After a previous attempt went down the drain, he is coming to our gym on Saturday, May 28 at 1 p.m. What is annoying is that on this date a gala is taking place in Leek where some fighters from our Dojo are giving Acte de Precense. However, there is no other time when Alistair Overeem can come in the near future so the choice was quickly made for us.
So we are extremely proud that this giant is visiting Burning Heart.
The cost for this seminar is € 25.00, to be paid in cash upon registration at the bar / counter and advise to do so early because we expect that many people will not miss this opportunity so register as soon as possible. Non-members are also welcome!
As icing on the cake, the specialist in the field, Ben Pontier photographer, will be present to do a photographic report and I will make a cinematic report with my camera.
So after greats like Raymond Dekkers, Bob and Irma Schreiber, Gago Drago, Ernesto Hoost, Joop Kasteel, Raymond Joval, Hesdy Gerges, Mike Passenier and Red Cairo now it's Alistair Overeem's turn.

Fitness/Crossfight
The Fitness/Crossfight's 24-hour opening is going as expected and I can report that quite a few drops have already been made. Due to the fact that since May 1, I have the camera images, both day and night, on my home computer with much greater frequency, I have noticed that there are still quite a few athletes who do not use a towel to put on e.g. a bench. There are even athletes who, bare and sweaty, use the benches without a towel and move on to the next machine as soon as they are done.
This is really not acceptable, realize that a moment later another athlete is using the bench.
A little hygiene should go without saying, so people make sure you have a towel with you.
If for some reason you forgot, we sell Burning Heart towels at the bar.
As lame and schoolmasterly as it sounds, we will not hold towel users accountable because hygiene is a must in a gym.

Hospitality Football Tournament
This past 2nd Pentecost it was full house during Jerry's sack and fitness training.
The day before he participated, albeit very briefly, with his own team from Burning Heart in the annual Horeca Soccer Tournament at sports club Hilversum on Crailo.
After only 10 minutes he had to quit the first game with an upper leg injury and unfortunately could not continue playing. I know how much pain this caused him despite frantic attempts by a masseur present to get him ready to play.
To make matters worse, a little later Noëll Twight dropped out with a hamstring injury so the pool became a lot thinner. I won't go into the match results but I will mention that Ab got a yellow card because of remarks he made to the referee. For the rest it was a very successful day and we will certainly be present again next year.
