24-7 Whisky Run?

Can remember it like it was yesterday, our love for a delicious whisky and the enchanting scenery of Scotland had promised us, Jerry and Dick, a long weekend.
It was the third time we spent such a short holiday together. After a successful flight, a mighty scenic drive through a part of Scotland and finally a boat trip of more than 2 hours, we arrived at our destination, the island of Islay. I have traveled almost all over Scotland with and without the fine company of my eldest son but never been to the cradle of Scotch whisky and that is this island.
After a wonderful but quite tiring day, we were resting in our room before dinner when Jerry casually made a comment that read: Dad, walk around with the idea of keeping our Dojo and especially the top floor where the Crossfight and the Fitness are located open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Been playing with this idea for a while and you know you always want to be distinctive, so I think this is a great idea. I had to let this remark sink in for a while and after it had indeed sunk in, I could applaud this idea. However, I immediately saw practical objections, but as you know, this month we celebrate the fact that we will be open 24 hours from April 2016. There are currently more than 200 drops in circulation and we are satisfied with the progress. I came up with this because Jerry posted a message on facebook and I gratefully used this message because I don't have much to write this week. That's what I run into every week, filling a blog with information about our Dojo.

The past few days I have been busy with our webmaster, René Taling. My support and anchor in everything that takes place around our Dojo in terms of advertising, facebook and other campaigns has been given another room at his disposal at home. With all due respect, Taling's job is anything but the realm of building and things like that. Because of that fact and I still don't have 2 left hands and I get along quite well with René, I offered my help with the adjustments of his new workplace. This has resulted in a beautiful laminate floor and a new set-up where his computers and related computers are now located. The disadvantage in his old workplace was the incidence of light and outside much more space that has been improved a lot. He can now receive people that was previously not or hardly possible in his office. Since René has a day job at our Dojo, almost everything that passes in the field of ICT, he has a hand in one way or another.

Strong Viking Run
Here is another message from the nag in me, people who have registered for the Viking Run, just over one more week and the registrations for this festival will be passed on to the organization of this event. At the moment, the vast majority of registrations, which amount to more than 80 people, have not yet met their financial obligations. So people remember this because only people who have paid will be passed on!! We don't want to go through the experience we had last year again. The organization of this Run also sets a deadline for us, as the point of contact for our group, regarding registrations and payment to them. Now Jerry had paid the entry fee for quite a few people and at the end of the song these people did not give in, which meant that Jerry went into the boat for a considerable amount of money. You understand that we do not want to go through this again. Try to get the tickets for participation in advance this year and be willing to go after Nijmegen so that it is a bit less chaotic and we can provide the tickets etc. in the bus. I'm really looking forward to experiencing this run again, even if it's from the side.

Until my next blog.
Dick
