May 1, Fitness Day

You would almost think that we have entered autumn if you look at the weather, far too chilly and wet, even during spring break, which is not very noticeable at the Dojo, unless it is the number of youth members who attend the morning training with their parents. It never ceases to amaze me the massive attendance on the weekends. Saturday bag training at 10:00 am given by Noël, at the same time Crossfight led by Twan. Sunday mornings we measure the largest turnout when Jerry takes care of the bag training. Also, the Fitness room is nicely filled throughout the day without really being too busy.
In short, things are going well at Dojo Burning Heart.

New App
Last Wednesday (King's Day) the vast majority of our members received an email with instructions regarding our new App. One of what I consider to be the biggest advantage is that you can now log in via your cell phone. In the morning at 8 a.m., our webmaster and myself were at the Dojo to send out the group email. This did not go without a hitch at first.
A total of 25 pages of addresses had to be sent and it went extremely slowly.
We followed the instructions given in advance by the designer of our new system but found that it was not really smooth. Now we can always call on this friendly man but didn't want to bother him on King's Day so the next morning we made a phone call. Since he was also not that experienced in sending a group email he suggested sending the pages one at a time.
As it turned out, in the space of a fart the pages flew off the screen and every member with a correct e-mail address had the data to log in.
During the previous day we saw the list of unknown or incorrect mail addresses grow rapidly and it became clear that quite a lot would have to be resent.
It is estimated that about 200 members entered an incorrect mail address or due to reading errors our side was not filled out correctly, only by entering the correct mail address at the counter/bar the mail with instructions, which by the way are quite simple, will still be sent.
The big advantage of logging in with your mobile phone is the speed with which this is done.
The other advantages of our new app will be covered in a future blog!

Almost May 1
The time when our Fitness/Crossfight spaces will open 24 hours a day is fast approaching.
This Sunday will be the day and we are extremely anxious to see how these spaces are used after regular opening hours. The new scanners are working properly and an extra magnetic lock has been installed on the bottom of the door so that it can no longer be pulled out of place.
Some people can do something about it, the other day I saw on camera someone trying with all their might to open the door from the inside. It is so simple, just press the black button and you can open the door unhindered. Believe me did not address the person in question too kindly. The procedure to receive a dropper is on Facebook or you can ask the desk clerk on duty without obligation. Anyone can receive this dropper provided a copy of valid identification is presented. Every morning the cameras are checked to see if the correct person has actually used the dropper provided in their name. In case of abuse, the dropper will be blocked and the subscription will be cancelled. Make sure that when more than one person wants to enter the building, each person scans the dripper separately. There are enough cameras to check this. So please always scan separately.
There is a paper on both the outside and the inside of the door with my emergency phone number between 10 p.m. and 8:30 a.m.
Live 5 minutes away from our Dojo so am quickly on the spot when needed.

Until my next blog,
Dick
