Judo in the region of Soest
Judo is a Japanese defense sport. Respect and fun are paramount at Burning Heart during judo classes in the Soest region. The lessons consist of a number of important components; fall breaking and judo techniques. The fall break is learning to fall on the judo mat without hurting yourself. The judo techniques consist of ground and standing techniques. Learning holds and throws are definitely encountered in Burning Heart classes.
Children do not easily get bored with judo because there is so much to learn. We also regularly organize judo exams. We do this to teach the judokas to set goals and achieve them, which naturally provides motivation and self-confidence.
During the first classes, we certainly do not expect every judoka to have a judo suit right away. There is no rush! Everyone can put on what they feel comfortable in.
Burning Heart reviews
Frolic champions from 2.5 years old and up
Judo from 2.5 years? At gym Burning Heart, it's possible! The romp class lasts half an hour and is for judokas between the ages of 2.5 and 4. Toddlers are always busy; exploring, frolicking, climbing, scrambling and so on. It's all part of the game! During judo lessons near Soest there is plenty of room for this. By starting with a sport at such a young age, motor skills develop unprecedentedly quickly. And it is also a lot of fun. From the first lesson your judoka will make new friends!
Some judoka feel right at home, others first watch from the sidelines. To give every toddler the feeling of fun and safety, the parents join us on the mat! For many parents, half an hour of sports with your own future judoka is a wonderful relief after a busy week at work. Some parents find it even more fun than the child itself!
History
Judo was developed by Japanese Jigoro Kano and is originally a defensive sport. As a child, Jigoro was a small and slender man. He was bullied a lot but never dared to do anything in return. When Jigoro was about 16 years old he started Jiu-Jitsu. He had heard that during Jiu-Jitsu you can learn how to defeat a physically stronger opponent. Through the classes Jigoro took, he became physically stronger and improved his fitness, but most importantly, he began to feel much stronger mentally. Jigoro Kano began to stand up for himself. Although Kano felt that Jiu-Jitsu had many good things going for it, he found that it could be tough at times. He was often covered in Band-Aids and even got a nickname for this; "Bansoko" (the Band-Aid).
Kano thought things could be different. After much training, he came up with the sport of judo in 1882. Unlike Jiu-Jitsu, judo is not about defeating your opponent, it is more like a game of how best to throw or control someone without injuring them. In judo, you learn to use your opponent's strength to overpower him or her. Respect is extremely important from both sides.
