My business is the best!

Dojo, Burning Heart, Mystery Guest, My Case Is The Best

It remains a cliché, but the week has flown by. Quite an exciting week with something different almost every day, so you are in theater Gooiland a little later you lead a film crew around the dojo. In between I'm trying to edit the images of our dance school which I didn't really have time for, but I'm going to fully focus on that after today (Thursday). I feel physically quite broken because normally I take my resting points in a day but it has not happened in the past few days, but it has been more than worth the discomfort. It started on Saturday morning with the judo exams that I was supposed to film but due to the large influx of parents and relatives no time to leave the bar, luckily René Taling has shot plenty of pictures of this event. Then I rushed to the Gooiland theatre where I looked for the best spots for the cameras I had with me. On Sunday I first fulfilled my duty behind the bar during the morning mass, then at home I watched the images of Gooiland, in between I followed the performances of Max Vertappen.
Monday and Tuesday were all about the planned TV recordings of Mijn zaak is de Beste. A battle between three gyms where people judge each other on all kinds of points.
Extra attention was paid to the appearance of our dojo with a team of people.
Short report of this event below!

My Case Is The Best

In my previous blog I explained the rules of the upcoming TV show My Case is the Best, so don't do this again. Do know that we have been quite busy to make a good impression in terms of appearance and such. Everything was cleaned extra and a lick of paint applied where necessary.
Tuesday afternoon a mystery guest would come by, part of the program, to shine his eyes on our dojo and also do some exercises.
For example, he did some padwork with Jerry in our octagon, then underwent the Jacob's Ladder quite intensively under the guidance of Daphne with the 480 trainer as a finale where both Daphne and Jerry taught him. Quite tough parts but the mystery guest finished them in an exemplary way, especially when you consider that he had already done exercises in the other selected gyms on the same day. Really something for Jerry, the mystery guest had some problems with his left arm, Daphne's proposal was to put the 480 trainer on position 5 but jerry immediately said, come on it's a guy position 10 he should be able to handle. Have to say, he accomplished it.
The next day was the actual filming that started at Otopoets. Even brother Marco was interviewed and then went to the dojo.
Had taken it upon myself to guide them as best as possible, neatly in my slightly too tight polo shirt. I have to say I thought it was quite a relaxed crew from Blue Circle, especially the director, who I had the most to do with.

At the end of the afternoon, Jerry gave the bag and fitness training, at the request of the film crew, which was later taken over by Abman because both Daphne and Jerry had to give interviews, which both went well. After they had eaten in our office, it was my turn to ask some questions.
Around 7 o'clock I got tired because I had demanded quite a bit from my body the past few days. The other gym owners arrived a bit later and what I understood from jerry when I called him around 11:00, saw the TV crew at home leave on the cameras, they were quite impressed with our dojo. This Saturday, the results will be filmed somewhere in Amsterdam.

Performance Dance 3 theater Gooiland.

They had been working towards it for weeks, the performance in theater Gooiland by the dancers of Dance 3. Last Saturday the time had finally come and what a performance it has become.
I personally enjoyed it from the first minute despite being busy filming. Caught me dancing along to the music, saw that from the movements of the camera, luckily the whole thing was recorded with 2 cameras so I can replace that particular piece with the other camera.? Quickly focus on what I was doing.
It took a while, but after I wrote this blog, I will fully focus on the editing of this fantastic performance by Dance School 3.

Judo exams

Last Saturday it was time for the judo exams. The morning started with the so-called fall diploma for our frolic champions. Because I had to stand behind the bar, I didn't get much of this event, but understood from others that it was very successful. René Taling has taken countless photos that will be on our site and will be seen on facebook. Also the pictures of the older judokas who went for the next slip or belt will soon be shown on the site of Burning Heart and facebook.
Judo, Burning Heart, Frolic Champions, Exam

All in all, we had a turbulent and busy week but didn't want to miss a day.

Until my next blog,
Dick
