Entrance, Free Fitness and Farewell

Quite a wintry weekend behind us with code red, although it didn't look like it on Sunday morning. As always, my eyes opened fairly early Sunday morning and I turned over in my bed one more time. Actually, as usual, it was fruitless, when I wake up I'm really awake. Keep it up for fifteen minutes and then I really have to get out. The first course is after my coffee machine and looked out of my kitchen window where, despite the forecast, there was not a flake of snow to be seen. I thought to myself, they are wrong again with the weather forecast that had a lot of snow in store for us, especially the middle of the country. I have to admit afterwards that I was wrong because at the end of the morning the first flakes fell from the sky and that went on until almost midnight. Even though it's not the snow from my childhood anymore it seems, you could really smell that snow I remember, don't know how to describe it but miss that special smell these days. So this is my opening text of the weekly blog, back to the daily happenings of our Dojo.

NEW ACCESS TO THE ENTRANCE DOOR
On the one hand, it has become a lot easier for us, on the other hand, it is a lot more difficult despite the sales pitch of the sales representative. The need for a new door unlocker for our 24-hour users of the gym was the fact that the limit of the system had been reached. It turned out that there was a limit of 250 users, something we were not told when we bought this system. Recently I wanted to get some drops ready for use again and no matter what I tried, I couldn't. After many fruitless attempts, I just stopped and thought, I'll try it the next day. When it didn't work again the next day, I decided to read through the instructions to see what I was doing wrong. While reading, my eye fell on a small sentence where it could be read that there was a limit of 250 users. On the one hand, I was relieved that programming new drops was not my way of working, and on the other hand, I realized that this was a small disaster. Because the interest in exercising after 22:00 is still growing, we were forced to purchase another, more expensive, system. All this took a few weeks but fortunately has now become active. Say happy because I received angry phone calls from members who wanted a key with all their might. Could explain what I wanted but couldn't receive any understanding from these angry members. Back to the opening words of this article regarding the sales pitch of the representative of the Mauer company. Despite his promise that the old chip could be read and transferred to the new system, this turned out not to be possible. This means that we have to transfer all the drops that have already been issued via our computer and that is only possible when we have the "old" keys. Quite a job to do 250 conversions but there is nothing else to do. I made a report on facebook, but we also understand that not every member is on facebook. Now it is the case that the "old" system on the door handle can still be used until the end of January 2018, but after that the new reader on the door jamb only works. Wait until mid-January 2018 and then send an email to members who have not yet been converted that they have to go to the counter to prepare their key. But again, not everyone has an e-mail address or incorrect e-mail address that is known to us. On the entrance door and the sign in the hall downstairs there will be a message regarding the conversion.

FAREWELL DANCE TEACHER CELIA BERG
Today, Thursday 14 December, is a bit of a sad day for me. For the very last time, Celia teaches the girls of our dance school hip-hop, among other things. I met Celia when she was still giving dance lessons to Kids at our old Dojo. She did and still does with a very contagious enthusiasm, but because of her busy work with kids2party and the distance Rotterdam versus Hilversum and back on an always busy A12, she was forced to make this decision. I was able to work with Celia a few times in connection with Kids2party, she gave a smashing birthday party and I took care of the images. It was not only a party for the girls and boys of the party, but also for me! Definitely going to miss her and wish her all the luck and many parties with kids2party.
