Rope Trainer in the Crossfight

Week is over so it's time to let you hear from me. Just updated my story about our Dojo a bit because I foresaw that this week has gone by without any noteworthy things I can mention. Of course there is always something, but this week news appears to be a bit sparse, hence the updating of the "history" block. Thursday I used it to shoot new pictures for the upcoming new website. I have seen some images and can tell you that the images I have seen are very promising and look extremely efficient. I can't tell you much more because as they say it's under construction and I've only seen a single image, but what I saw is a feast.

Willfulness or ignorance
Start this blog by mentioning that a fairly new device has been knowingly destroyed. This must have happened about 2 weeks ago, it concerns the slanted trampoline that you throw balls against and have to catch them. Now this device has been used to jump on it instead of balls themselves, and with so much force that the rod, more than a centimeter thick, that goes through a hole to possibly raise or lower the square tube, instead of through the hole has become completely stuck in the extension of the square tube. Fortunately, after I unscrewed the construction with the help of a vice and chisel, I was able to get this pin loose, with the help of my son Marco. It is put back together, only the height can no longer be adjusted because there is now a nut and bolt through it and this rather expensive device can be used again. Through a tip from someone who thinks they have seen when this must have happened, I will look back at recorded footage and hope in this way to find out the, we suspect, young perpetrator(s) because this was simply done deliberately in my eyes.

Further news for the Crossfighters is the new device that is located in the Crossfight space. As of today, this Rope Trainer is in the Crossfight and you can enjoy yourself on this device.

History

Personally, I could be found every day in our new Dojo under construction, sometimes until the late hours. Plenty of chores for me and what certainly helped, I don't have 2 left hands, so enough to do to be of use on a daily basis. The work went well and because the planning was well coordinated, we were able to enter the next phase. For example, a large hole had to be drilled in the outer wall where the air extraction had to be extracted. A company was hired to do this job. The annoying thing about this was that our upstairs neighbors, an ICT company, had to virtually shut down their activities for several hours because the diamond drill was quite noisy while drilling through the concrete layer. As a rule, work was done during the evenings and weekends, but this company would cost too much money to have this done outside regular hours. Knowing Jerry, just don't say anything in advance to avoid a lot of nagging so remember it like it was yesterday, when the diamond drill started sawing all the staff of the ICT company came to us in no time to ask for an explanation because they couldn't work like that. Oh well, my son said, this hole only takes 10 minutes, you understand such a big hole turned out to take 80 minutes instead of 10. It's one of those things I'll never forget. For the rest, we have really taken our upstairs neighbors into account as much as possible, but yes, when work is being done, it occasionally causes noise. Notice that regularly in my own flat when someone is drilling a hole again, quite an annoying sound but if they stick to the house rules that apply to my flat you will not hear me. If a complete gym is built, it can happen that there is some nuisance every now and then because not only volunteers who are busy after their own work, but hired companies are busy during the day. A few times a week Jerry received a text message from the neighbors or the landlord that a noise was being made, but luckily he read these messages a while later. Through Bart we came into contact with Johan Brouwer, owner of a construction company from Naarden, a great guy who arranges all our ironwork. Now, of course, punching bags had to be hung up and since we also had a lowered ceiling planned, he and 3 employees carried out this job on Sundays because each support had 60 holes. This was due to the construction of the ceiling and we didn't want to do this to our upstairs neighbors, all that drilling all day.

Continued next time.

Until my next blog.
Dick
