Open Day

After a few weeks of hard work and seeing many a drop of sweat beading on the various heads, last Saturday was the big day for everyone who did their bit.
In a relatively short period of time a small miracle was achieved by transforming a neglected office space into, in all modesty, a beautiful dance school and Ladies Only Dojo.
On opening day itself, many an early job was done to make everything look spick and span. For example, a toilet still had to be installed and the necessary cleaning work had to be done.
A particularly annoying side effect was the fact that a certain group in the fuse box did not want to cooperate and randomly broke down. The number of blown fuses grew by leaps and bounds throughout the day and resulted in quite a few.
Until now we have not found out where it keeps going wrong, last Monday an employee of the Bijlard company measured everything and checked the sockets but he could not find anything either.
To make matters worse, the newly installed new water tank also appeared to be leaking, fortunately drop by drop, so with some towels around the pot he caught it.
At the stroke of 10 o'clock the doors of our shelter swung open and we could welcome the first visitors to the Open House.

We received many compliments and people were surprised to see how things looked.
An Open Day is almost always waiting to see if it will be visited. I can tell you that we were pleasantly surprised by the number of visitors we received.
Not only existing customers of Burning Heart honored us with a visit, quite a few new people came to the Open House.
Fortunately, there were enough ladies present to provide people with information and/or give them a tour of the beautiful building.
In between there were several workshops and demonstrations by our teachers and people could join in. Something that was eagerly used.
In short, a very successful open day with quite a few registrations.

You may have noticed, our halls have a beautiful Led lighting.
Over the weekend there were problems with the entrance door, the drop to enter after closing time sometimes refused. What appeared upon inspection Monday morning, the battery was almost dead.
It has since been replaced and one can again enter unimpeded.

Until the next blog.
