Menno and Chris to Battle of Germany

This Saturday you won't find me behind the bar of our gym. That day I camp at the "Buitencentrum" near Nijmegen where I have my annual outing. A 3-day festival for whisky lovers that I count myself under. A festival with the beautiful name "MALTSTOCK", derived from the famous WOODSTOCK from the seventies. With about 200 fellow enthusiasts, you can enjoy whisky from all over the world. I'm there for the ninth time in a row and asked to capture this day on film.

This Saturday, 3 members of Burning Heart will try to uphold the honor of Dojo Burning Heart with our eastern neighbors. In the town of Remscheid, a two-and-a-half-hour drive from Hilversum, a major international tournament takes place under the name: BATTLE OF GERMANY. Finalists qualify directly for the WFMC World Championships in Hagen, Germany which will take place on October 20-21-22. Our representatives are: 10-year-old Chris Schonherr ( The Blade ), member since January 1, 2016, with the same age Menno Lam (The Unbreakable), member since August 12, 2013. In the C class, Mourad Amazyan will be in the ring for Dojo Burning Heart. Mourad is, among other things, a member of our trainers' guild and who has already proven his young traces in the field of kickboxing. These 3 champions will be supported during their fight by none other than Samantha van Doorn, Jeremy Blijd and Salih Gitgel. Of course the parents of our youth members are also present, who goes with Mourad is not known to me while writing this article. Had the pleasure of seeing these three in their preparation for the BATTLE OF GERMANY over the past few weeks and believe me, the splashes proverbially flew off. Of course we wish our boys every success, but above all an event that will stay with all three of them, and perhaps a sequel to the WFMC world championship later this year.

Large Dojo
In the near future, you may notice some things that we believe will improve the day-to-day business. For example, we are going to ensure that the bar will be better staffed, the current state of affairs irritates us extremely due to the fact that it currently regularly happens that no one is available to pour a cup of coffee or to answer questions, for example. Now only Jaimy is present after half past seven in the evening and that only on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. We aim to have the bar manned every evening from 17:00 until closing time. Polo shirts are also on order for both bar staff and trainers on the floor so that one is clearly recognizable and gives a better image. At the same time, this means that people who have no business behind the bar are kindly requested to remove themselves! The current mat in the main Dojo will also be replaced by new mats. From the bar, this floor still looks fine, but when you actually walk on the floor you get a completely different impression.
So in the foreseeable future, you will be exercising on a beautiful floor again.
