Kickboxing certificate

There is still a flu epidemic in the Netherlands, I hear on the radio. I have been ailing myself for weeks but I have the idea that I am doing better. My daughter-in-law Daphne has forced me to take vitamin C. I do eat vegetables regularly but not enough fruit so I took the effervescent tablets. One tablet every day and apart from the fact that it is quite tasty, it seems to be bearing fruit. A little private story so time to switch to the daily goings on at our dojo.
Last Friday's Beastside was reasonably successful, too bad the tattoo event did not go ahead. For various reasons the tattoo people cancelled their appointments and our octagon remained empty this time.

Computer problems
Lately there have been small problems with our computer at the dojo, regularly very slow, certain actions the compu didn't want to do, internet which regularly dropped out and so on. It is an older computer, it has served me well for a few years. Due to expansion of new services at home, the heavier film work, I was forced to buy another, better suited computer. With the transition at the dojo to a new system, my old computer proved to be up to the tasks but, as mentioned above, some problems are now beginning to appear.
Last Monday evening, had a nice evening of whisky tasting with some friends in Leusden, my granddaughter, who was on bar duty, called that the computer had given up the ghost. Fortunately it was almost closing time so there were only people left to check in upstairs. Of necessity we just unlocked the door, scanning system no longer works when the computer fails, and we didn't want to leave the 24 hour people in front of a closed door. Got to the dojo early the next morning and, lo and behold, the computer booted up normally. Switched off, disconnected all cables and cleaned inside, rebooted and now just wait and see if it stays up or else we need to invest again.

New drops
It suddenly went very fast with the issue of 24 hour drops, in one week 8 pieces issued therefore a small week without them. Normally 1 drop per week goes out. Fortunately a supply of 50 new drops has arrived, so if there are athletes who want to buy one, there are plenty in stock.

Remodeling Fitness Crossfight
Renovation
Today, Tuesday, Feb. 7, started the demolition of the " Karma is a bitch" wall. On the one hand a shame that this beautiful graffiti wall is gone, on the other hand we gain a piece of gym space. The removal of some punching bags earlier has created enough space in the crossfight where, among other things, the treadmills were removed from the separate room that also housed the 480 trainer. At the time of this post, the crossfight needs to be re-done so that the equipment can be fully appreciated.

Kickboxing certificate
To inspire the kickboxing youth even more, Burning Heart will start with a certificate that can be obtained after a real exam. This idea sprung from the mind of our head coach Jeremy Blijd. In judo, the color of the belt one wears indicates the class one is in. Following this, we will work with certificates, starting with certificate 1. As you can see on the accompanying photo of this blog, below right, the requirements for obtaining certificate 1. The date when this exam will take place will be announced as soon as possible. The goal is to do so before Jeremy's vacation at the end of the month.

Until the next blog
Dick
