Boxing Gala

It was Tuesday morning as I hung out the office window at Burning Heart to smoke a Shaggie, know I'm actually supposed to quit but at my age there's no point anymore. Looking out into the parking lot I saw Maeva Labega drive up and get out. In her hand she had the Gooi and Eemlander and called up, I am in the paper today.
Once inside she showed me the article and it turned out to be a double page. I took a quick look at it together with some others including Jerry, there were some pictures that showed Burning Heart very well. A bit later I read the article intensively and was again impressed by the positivity Maeva exudes in this article as well.
Over the past 2 years, I have seen and talked to Maeva regularly, especially about her clinical picture. Whenever things seemed to be going in the right direction, a hitch occurred and she had to start her recovery from scratch. When the Fisherman Friends run came into the picture and Maeva asked if she could link an action of Fight for Cancer to it, the response of Daphne and Jerry was, yes of course that's good. Almost every day Maeva came to the dojo to enthusiastically announce that she had managed to get some kind of sponsor. In passing she also posted a comment that she had been in touch with the newspaper.
That it would be a double page where Burning Heart would come out so positively I never thought. In a post on facebook where Jerry commented I quote a sentence:

Maeva, you thank us but I thank you for everything!!! We are all behind you girl, during the run but also the past 2 years and the upcoming years!!!

Truly a response that only Jerry can post and though it's my own blood, the way Jerry responds only Jerry can and his response to Maeva touched me deeply!

No Limits Gym
The piece I am going to give some attention to now fits seamlessly with the previous one, in the near future we will start kickboxing for people with disabilities at Burning Heart.
Last Thursday, Noëll Twight went with Richard Veerman to Antoine Schutte's Gym, No Limits Gym, very appropriate name in this case.
Together they went through a class to imagine what things are like. Can assure you that both returned home very enthusiastic.
Since we have the facilities and certainly knowledgeable teachers, we will be teaching these classes for people with disabilities at Burning Heart as well.

Boxing Gala
Last week a real Boxing Gala was put on the agenda. Together with Erik Ouwerkerk, this man needs no further introduction, the plan was conceived to organize this particular Boxing Gala on February 26, 2017. Together these gentlemen want to make it a smashing event and are going to pull out all the stops to actually make this a success.
From this side, I am going to keep you updated regularly on the progress.

This week the "little Dojo" was the last to be fitted with Led lighting.
Wherever you walk, 50×50 Led panels hang everywhere and in the Fitness, the fluorescent tubes have been replaced with Led tubes. Burning Heart is also doing its part in terms of the environment and saving money.

Oh yes, one more thing, it was a regular mess at the Fitness again last week.
You can ask, beg but there are still people who don't care about our requests to leave things tidy. For example, the Legpress was broken again, if you use it please remove the weights after your exercise and hang them in the appropriate place. The cameras that are hanging there will be changed a bit so that we will have more insight into the places that are currently giving offence and I will regularly check the images so that we can speak to the people concerned about this.
